Meet Dr. Mary Landau, M.D

Meet Dermatologist Dr. Mary Landau

My name is Mary Elizabeth Landau. I grew up in West Virginia. I went to undergraduate at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and from there went to medical school at Duke University. I graduated from Duke University in 1993 and then went on to do my residency and my fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. I continued migrating west and ended up in Arizona.

I was working in a large hospital setting, and my fellowship training is in skin pathology, and I always wanted to do exclusively skin pathology. I had heard about Arizona Dermatology for years as I have been in the Valley and knew the reputation and was just very fortunate when a position opened up.

I read the skin biopsies for the dermatologist and providers. I am responsible for the diagnosis of cancers, not cancer, dysplastic nevi, actinic keratosis, sun-related skin damage, inflammatory disorders. Pretty much anything that gets biopsied, I'm the person that they come to, to see what the final answer is.

I have found that not only is this a very academic environment, with very educated physicians and providers, but also it's an incredibly happy, family-oriented place where people come and stay for a long time, and it's the kind of practice you want to stay in.
