About Me
Dr. Anthony Nuara is a Phoenix native and a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon with extensive training in advanced medical, and surgical dermatology. He is also board-certified in Mohs micrographic surgery, specializing in the precise removal of skin cancers with tissue-sparing techniques.
Dr. Nuara’s academic journey began at the University of Arizona, where he graduated with honors as the Outstanding Senior in Biochemistry with additional degrees in Molecular Microbiology and Chemistry. He then pursued his MD and PhD in molecular microbiology and immunology at St. Louis University, where his doctoral research focused on the interaction of viruses with the immune system. This work laid the foundation for his expertise in the biological and pharmacological modulation of the immune system.
Dr. Nuara completed a medical and surgical internship at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, followed by dermatology training at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is a former president of the Phoenix Dermatology Society and an active member of the Phoenix Dermatology community. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Mohs Surgery, the American Medical Association and the Arizona Medical Association.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Nuara conducts clinical trials and educates other physicians on new medications, furthering advancements in dermatological treatments and therapies. His research and clinical work are driven by a commitment to improving patient outcomes through cutting-edge science and personalized care.
