COVID-19 UPDATES FOR PATIENTS

UPDATED MESSAGE APRIL 3, 2020:

 

Dear Patients,

With the current landscape in flux and Governor Ducey’s order for Arizonans to “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected”, the Arizona Dermatology family wanted to provide some additional information regarding your care.

Firstly, Arizona Dermatology is open and we are seeing new and existing patients as necessary for any issues needing attention as well as for urgent/emergency skin-related issues including surgeries as we provide care for patients and minimize the need to visit an ER or urgent care facility. We ask that patients who have a cough, fever, have had exposure to COVID-19 or have traveled outside the state, to reschedule their appointment to a later date or until they have been clear for 2 weeks without symptoms.

We are committed to providing our patients with the highest standards of care while maintaining a safe environment for our patients and staff. We will continue to provide this level of care at our offices while following strict standards of Infection control and prevention to maximize your safety and ours.

Arizona Dermatology Safety Protocols:

  • Outside check-in with Covid-19 screening questionnaire
  • Wait in your car until your exam room is ready. We will call you.
  • Every patient provided with a face mask and hand sanitizing prior to entering office
  • Strict disinfection protocol for your exam room prior to your entry
  • Arizona Dermatology Providers and Staff wearing N95 masks throughout your visit

Secondly, we are also now offering care through our secure online TELEHEALTH platform. You will be able to meet with your Arizona Dermatology provider through video conferencing. Smartphones or computers can be used to connect with the providers. Straight forward instructions and support, if needed, will be provided prior to the telemedicine visit. Please note that while many skin conditions can be diagnosed and treatment can be prescribed, telemedicine visits may require an in-office follow-up visit for finalizing treatment. All telemedicine claims will be filed with your insurance carrier.

Please make sure TELEHEALTH visit is conducted in a quiet and well-lit section of your home.

 

Lastly, our providers are trained to evaluate and treat minor injuries such as burns, anything needing stitches, lacerations and wound care. In this trying time, Arizona Dermatology is committed to helping the community. Let’s try to minimize the burden for urgent care and ER’s so these resources are available for the COVID-19 outbreak while also limiting everyone’s exposure risk.

When scheduling an appointment, our team will discuss the options with you to determine the necessity for an in office visit, Telehealth or emergency visit. If you are currently scheduled for an in-office visit and would prefer a telemedicine visit, please call our office to adjust your appointment.

Arizona Dermatology will be operating from 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 through the end of May.
