Tirsa Quartullo DNP, FNP-C

Meet Tirsa Quartullo

Hello, my name is Tirsa Quartullo. I am a board-certified nurse practitioner. I am from Buffalo, New York. My educational background consists of, in 1999 I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Then in 2002, I graduated from same, from the University at Buffalo with my Master's Degree in Science. And then in 2009, I graduated from Rocky Mountain University with my Doctorate Degree in Science, as well, focusing more on research and dermatology. Nurse practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses, so I get to have the best of both worlds. I get to practice medicine and seeing patients and diagnose and treat. But I also get to bring a little bit of nursing into what I do, because I'm a nurse at heart. When I get to treat patients, not only do I treat them medically, but I also get to talk to them, educate them, and spend a little bit of time with them. Arizona Dermatology is a well-known, well established, incredibly reputable company. In my opinion, it's a leader in the industry. It's a staple in our community. I know that Arizona Dermatology hires the best of the best, and I wanted to be part of that.

Debra Bergstrom MS, RN, FNP

Meet Debra Bergstrom

My name is Debra Bergstrom-Sedgwick. I'm a nurse practitioner plus graduate prepared. I grew up in Maryland and still miss it. I've been in Arizona and in the Southwest for probably 30 years now. I did my undergraduate preparation at University of Texas-El Paso which was considered the finest College of Nursing then and still is.

Post graduate and graduate preparation at Arizona State University. For over 20 years I did hospital internal medicine and had my own internal medicine practice. I retrained in dermatology and am very happy I did so.

I like the patient interactions that are positive instead of focused on very negative or life consuming illnesses. I like the ability to make changes in people's lives and positive impacts on their health whereas with many modalities in medicine you're dealing with problems that people don't maybe want to change like their diet, their lifestyle, their exercise, and their substance habits.

In dermatology I find that a lot of people are open to improvement. Your skin is what people see, so most people come wanting that improvement.

In the White Mountains we have a very diverse population. We are the only dermatology practice available within a 200 mile radius for many of these people. That being said, we have people who come from New Mexico who are probably closer to some of the New Mexico cities because they like our service. We have people who are native populations who don't have access to dermatology care unless they go to major centers, like Albuquerque or Phoenix, who come in.

We have many people who come from far outlying counties in Arizona or in different parts of New Mexico to see us.

Arizona Dermatology is special because we truly have world class clinicians. We try to go the extra mile in terms of technology, in terms of research, in terms of service to our customers, in terms of location and facilities. I don't know another dermatology practice in Arizona or even the Southwest that has what we have to offer.
